Welcome to Fishburn Nursery!
Nursery this year will be taught by Mrs Blackburn. Our nursery is your child’s first experience of our school and we want it to be a welcoming and nurturing place for them to attend.
Nursery and Reception are taught in our EYFS unit separately in the mornings but do access all of the provision across the setting. Our nursery children benefit from having a teacher with them throughout the week. We start the teaching of phonics in the Summer term to enable our children a smooth transition into full time school. Nursery and Reception will be using the Sounds Write phonics scheme and the Pie Corbett literacy programme to promote creative writing and fluent reading.
We are also now offering extended provision to all families meeting the new criteria. Because of the structure of our day, we are offering 34 hours per week. The only charge to this is £12.30 per week which covers the money to provide these children with their school lunches.
15-hour places are still available for families not meeting the extended hours criteria too.
You can view the EYFS Nursery letters here.
Please arrange a visit to our EYFS provision, a member of staff will be more than happy to show you around and talk to you about what we can offer your child at Fishburn.
