Our KS 2 Curriculum runs as a two year cycle. The new curriculum is a ‘core’ expectation nationally and is not intended to be the only agenda studied by schools. We use novels as a quality experience of language. This helps with our teaching of English. When we looked at the new curriculum staff and governors wanted it to be an ‘evolving’ curriculum with a wide scope.
Our curriculum will change slightly each year. Our two year cycle enables us to cover a wide breadth of topics. Please feel free to contact us if you would be interested in knowing more.
These are our Long Term Plans for Maths in KS2, we also look to use Maths skills across other subjects so as to give meaning.
Vocabulary Grammar and Punctuation – Progression of Skills
Early reading in Key Stage one and lower Key Stage two is developed with Dandelion Readers.
Pupils then move onto whole class novels and free reading, Titans Gauntlet books are high interest and accessible for older readers and these are used for catch up and intervention.
If you would like to discuss any aspect of the curriculum contact the school.
