Hello everyone!
As you will already know, a virus called Coronavirus has meant that we have all had to stay home to stay safe. This Playmobil video might explain to you a little more about what Coronavirus is and why we have had to stay home:
We are enjoying having you all back in school with us. You have adapted to the changes extremely well and I am very proud of you all!
Arriving at school:
There might be some extra signs and tape around our school. This is to show you where you can and can’t go. Please don’t be worried about this, the grown ups are here to make sure you are safe. The school mostly looks the same as it did when you left us. The grown ups will answer any questions you have.
Washing your hands:
You will be asked to wash your hands lots while you are here. This is so that we can make sure we dont pass the virus on. Remember to wash your hands for at least 20 seconds, (you could sing the ‘Happy Birthday’ song through twice to help you remember how long to wash your hands for).
You will be asked to wash your hands when you arrive at school, after breaktimes / lunchtimes and if you sneeze or blow your nose. Your teacher might ask you to wash your hands during the day too especially after you have been outside. There are special small bins in every room with coloured lids for you to put your tissues into.
Classrooms:
If you bring a packed lunch container or water bottle it will be wiped down by a member of staff. Please keep your things with you in your space and at your desk. You need to use a tissue to blow your nose or when you cough or sneeze. You will be asked to wash your hands after this. When you are in class you will notice that the desks are more spaced out – this is because we have to keep a safe distance from other people. Playing outside might be a little different because you might be asked to stay away from each other but this is only to keep you safe. You will be outside LOTS over the next few weeks and you WILL still have fun!
Once we know you are happy and settled we will start to teach you some of the things you might have missed. Don’t worry – we will try to make it fun!
If you feel unwell at any point in the day you MUST let an adult know so that we can look after you.
We can’t wait to see you all, our grown ups are here to look after you and we will hopefully see you soon!
Miss Ferguson and all of the teachers.
