Support for Emotional & Social Development

Fishburn Primary School is an inclusive school, we consult with a wide range of agencies to ensure the emotional and social development needs of SEN children are met. On a daily basis the class teacher is responsible for the pastoral and social care of every child in their class, therefore this would be the first point of contact for any parents/carers should further advice and/or support is required.

Staff maintain close links with external agencies in order to access the best professional advice, we also liaise with the Local Authority. External Agencies include Occupational Therapy, CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service), One Point, Behaviour Intervention, Crisis Response, EWEL (Emotional Wellbeing and Effective Learning) and the School Nurse.

Several staff are trained in Team Teach (tailored training solutions teaching positive behaviour management strategies emphasising de-escalation and positive handling techniques)

A Behaviour Policy is in place.
